How to enable two-step verification on Telegram?
There is a process that you need to follow in order to get started with your two-step verification. Following are the steps that you got to follow:
Step 1: Log in to your Telegram account
- First, you must open Telegram and go to its Settings.
- Under Settings, choose Privacy and Settings option.
- Under the Privacy and Security section, tap on to ‘’Two-step verification’’ that lies below the category of Security.
Step 2: Set the password
- To set the password, you must now click on the Set Additional password option that comes under two-step verification.
- After setting the password, click on the tick mark icon that is situated on the right corner of the screen at the top. Repeat the same procedure while re-entering the password for confirmation.
Note: The password you enter can be in the form of digits, alphabets, or both. They may include special characters too.
Step 3: Create a password hint
- Post confirmation of the password, you need to create a password hint. Create a such a hint that will help you recall the password in case you forget it.
- After you are done with this, tap on the screen, at the top-right corner.
Step 4 (optional): Provide your recovery e-mail
Similar to G-mail and WhatsApp, Telegram too asks you to put forward a reliable recovery e-mail from your end. But this step is completely optional. However, it is advised that you must provide one, for if you get logged off and are unable to log in, giving in your recovery e-mail would just turn out to be helpful. An e-mail will be sent to you as a mark of confirmation for the detail you have shared.
If you do not want to give in your e-mail ID, you can select the Skip option.
Step 5: Give confirmation
Now all that has been left for you to do is to open the e-mail that has been sent to you by the Telegram. This e-mail contains a link, clicking on to which will enable your two-step verification feature on Telegram.
