Google is set to launch Google Pixel 6 pro, along with Google Pixel 6. Both the smartphones are expected to get launched before the end of this year, where October is the top seed although we are not completely sure about the dates.
This year Google will be launching 2 smartphones, one regular and one large phone unlike 2020 when they had launched only one Pixel phone which was eccentric for the Pixel Line-up. Months before the launch, the company have themselves let out information related to the specifications of both the phones that are to be launched.
Google is aiming to create a strong base and impact in the smartphone’s market, for which they are expected to put efforts into the Pixel phone and then launch a completely redesigned and convenient Pixel phone.
Now let’s cut to the chase and dive deep into the confirmed leaks of Google Pixel 6 pro:
The smartphone is expected to be high-priced, given in the previous 2 years Google’s smartphones haven’t been much competition in the market. In India, the price is assumed to be somewhere around Rs 80,000.
Display and design
The design of the Pixel 6 Pro is expected to be one of its most striking features, which will be employing a two-tone design with a black camera bump covering the entire width of the back. The two colours on the back of the phone will be divided by this bump. The space above the camera strip can be used to identify the two phones. It will also have more blank space above the camera bar.
The Pixel 6 Pro will be having a light polished aluminium frame and an industrial design with squared-off corners. The front of the phones seems in line with pretty much most Android phones. It will have a centred hole-punch with a cut-out for the selfie camera to keep the bezels to a minimum.
Speaking of bezels, the Pixel 5 had an under-display earpiece speaker to save space on the top bezel. However, Google has got rid of it this time on the Pixel 6 Pro in favour of a conventional earpiece. The Pixel 6 Pro will also feature in-display fingerprint scanners instead of the rear-mounted one that was found on the Pixel 5.
Talking about the display, Google Pixel 6 Pro is expected to have a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display, with the dimensions of 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm (with an 11.5mm camera bump), along with dual stereo speakers.
If we listen to another source, it points towards a 1440 x 3120 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and elsewhere we’ve similarly heard that the Pixel 6 Pro might have a QHD resolution, while the Pixel 6 might have a 6.4-inch flat screen.
Camera Hardware –
Google in their earlier tweets had stated that the smartphone will be having a horizontal camera island on the back which will extend from the left edge to the right edge that will be slightly protruded that will have triple cameras. The leak points to Pixel 6 Pro having a 50MP main and 12MP ultra-wide camera along with a 48MP telephoto one.
The same source also claims that the Pixel 6 Pro has a 12MP selfie camera. The third camera on the Pro variant is confirmed to be a telephoto camera that will provide 4X optical zoom. It is also expected that the front-facing camera on the Pixel 6 Pro might support 4K video recording.
We don’t have any official confirmation as for the battery, but multiple sources claim that the Pixel 6 Pro will have a 5,000mAh battery. Adding to the surprise, sources claim that the smartphone might also support wireless charging.
They might support faster wireless charging than the 12W offered by the Pixel 5 though, as evidence of a new wireless charger has been found in Android 12 code, and there’s mention of fans – a feature that helps keep the phone and charger cool when pumping out lots of power.
The smartphone will surely be having Android 12 as it’s software, which itself is going to arrive on October 4th. The new Android version that’s currently in beta will come with the Material You design language and the wallpaper-based UX theming. It will also pack a privacy dashboard that will show the apps that are using your phone’s camera, microphone, or location and a number of other useful features.
Other specifications and features
When Google stated the launch of smartphones Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in early August, they also unveiled the Google Tensor – which is its first custom chipset. The tech giant which will target at improving the cameras, speech recognition, and other features – especially improving voice commands, captioning and dictation and translation.
If reports are to be heard, then the Tensor chipset will also allow the Pixel 6 Pro to decode voice and process it on the same device itself (rather than on Google servers) which in turn will fasten the process of getting responses from Google Assistant and other vocal interface features.
Diving deep into the specifications further, we come to know that the Google Tensor chip will be featuring a 2 + 2 + 4 architecture, with two Cortex-A1 cores, two Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores. Two cores are clocked at 2.8GHz, the other two cores are clocked at 2.25GHz, and the last four cores are clocked at 1.8GHz. Additionally, the Pixel 6 Pro will also enable a 5G connection.
We can also expect an under-display fingerprint scanner on the Google Pixel 6 Pro smartphone, with a fingerprint in the middle of the screen.
The launch of the smartphone is just a few months away, and if reports are to be heard, then both the Pixel phones can be the most enthralling and compelling phone of the series! Both Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are expected to dramatically improve on the mid-range Pixel 5, offering true flagship specs. It will be exciting to see if Google can make it to the top of the market or not after launching these two highly anticipated smartphones.
